How to schedule queries in BigQuery

By Nick Barth

Updated on March 6, 2024

To schedule queries in BigQuery, you begin by navigating to the BigQuery web UI in the Google Cloud console. Here you can compose your query as usual. Once you're satisfied with the SQL statement, instead of running the query, you click on 'Schedule' which will open a dialog for creating a new scheduled query. You'll then assign a unique name, choose a frequency and set the specific time for the query to execute. You can also configure additional settings such as the destination dataset for query results and notification options for completed jobs, ensuring a seamless and automated data management process.
